FixDye, a recycled polyester yarn manufacturer, has selected Oerlikon Barmag Huitong Engineering (OBHE) to enhance its production capacities. Located in Huai’an, China, FixDye aims to expand its melt preparation capabilities, the stage preceding the spinning mill. This expansion will improve yarn quality control and supply chain oversight, crucial for achieving circular economy goals.
The new plant will process 3 x 180 tons per day of recycled bottle flakes for textile filament yarn. Starting mid-2025, it will primarily produce Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY) and Partially Oriented Yarn/Draw Textured Yarn (POY/DTY) for the European and US markets. The yarns will be spun-dyed, an eco-friendly, water-free dyeing method.
"FixDye plans to offer materials produced through the Textile-2-Textile recycling process in the near future," said Ivan Ye, CMO of FixDye. General Manager Kevin Wang added, "We chose OBHE for their reliable, efficient systems and sustainable, energy-saving concepts." FixDye produces everything from recycled melts to textile surfaces for renowned international brands.
