Inditex, Lacoste, Primark, PVH Corp, and Ralph Lauren Corporation are among the latest global fashion companies and retailers who have joined the Ellen Macarthur Foundation's network as partners. The foundation and its fashion partners will work to accelerate the Make Fashion Circular goal, which aims to ensure that products are created from safe and recyclable materials.
Their joint effort will be critical in driving systemic change and scaling solutions internationally as partners of the world's largest circular economy network.
Inditex, Lacoste, Primark, and PVH Corp were formerly key collaborators and participants in the Foundation's Make Fashion Circular program, with Primark and PVH Corp's Tommy Hilfiger brand also participating in the Foundation's Jeans Redesign project.
The Foundation's work on fashion began in 2017 when it gathered together industry leaders to collaborate with cities, philanthropists, NGOs, and entrepreneurs to establish a circular economy for clothing.
Make Fashion Circular is now in its fourth year and has made significant progress in reshaping the fashion industry, including establishing its vision and demonstrating that designing clothes for a circular economy is possible today through projects like The Jeans Redesign, which has seen some of the biggest names in fashion release more than half a million pairs of circular jeans to date.
