Suzhou, the ninth most populous city in mainland China well-known for its silk in Jiangsu Province, yesterday launched the 1st Jiangsu Textile Product Expo, a three day expo held in the city’s Wujiang District where most local textile companies are located, seeks to integrate with Suzhour, Shanghai and other surrounding areas by attracting investments and operative projects.

The Jiangsu Textile Product Expo aimed to showcase the competence of local companies and seek trading partners.

Shen Jinming, deputy district head, said that the expo is an opportunity for the local textile industry to spread its name and upgrade technology.

Fabrics made in the district's Shengze Town were featured at the expo, in which 276 companies took part.

The expo showcased six categories of fabrics, aimed to exhibit diverse high-end fashion brands and some of the latest innovations in the textile industry. It also seeks talented professionals to further develop the industry.
