Filpucci to present array of latest yarn and woolen knitwear at Pitti Filati

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2014-07-02 10:00:00 – Florence

Filpucci is a key player in Italy’s textile industry and a world leader in the manufacture of creative yarns for quality knitwear will be presenting its latest yarn and woollen selection at the upcoming Pitti Filati fashion exhibition that is taking place from 2-4 July in Florence.

The message for this deluxe, multiform winter is conveyed through some 50 products that are rich in charm and innovation, including warm mohair and alpaca, light, compact, velvety textured knitwear, and eccentric, sophisticated couture designs.

A collection that makes sharing and exchanging female and male genres easier represents a study of balance. It is a contemporary vision of multi‐tasking products that accommodate the dynamics of fashion knitwear.

The collection includes around 30 yarns with many variations not only in terms of gauge but also of mélange and gradient effects.

A new vision of elements, structures, fibre blends, and special effects, this selection features aerodynamic, ultramodern wools, eco‐friendly luxury fibres, new concepts in carded, and previously unseen blends of colour.

A completely updated collection is projected towards avant‐garde fashion formulas. Vibrant contrasts of dark and desaturated tones are said to create optical illusions, shaded effects and barely visible luminosity to suggest volumes, embossing, eccentric matches.

The collection's 50 yarns represent various lifestyle trends: luxury, contemporary and essentials.

Filpucci was a forerunner and promoter of the handicraft trend back in the eighties, when the Tricot Studio label redefined handknitting. Hand‐knitting yarns focus on rare but easy‐to‐knit varieties; new and old techniques together to inspire emotions and fashions, encouraging a spontaneous, informal, light‐hearted interpretation.

The products are orientated towards special technical yarns – made with love – ideal for creative accessories including bouclé effects for scarves and hats. Yarns with vintage effects – fashion university – with fibres like alpaca and linen to lend distressed, diluted looks. Patterns – colours wanted – cool or icy shades, round roves using the Blowool technique.

And the must‐haves of the season – essential luxury – with exquisite fibre blends like alpaca, silk and superkid or cashmere and yak, in various mixes and looks.

While never ceasing to surprise with technological research and respect for the environment, every year the Tricot Studio collection grows from the ultra-soft and feather light Soffili to organic wools, recycled cashmere, and cotton whose colors you can change at home with vegetal dyes.
