Emerging Chinese-born London-based designer, Feng Chen Wang, has released her eponymous label's latest collection of reworked and upcycled garments that examines the connection between fashion and the environment.
The "Re-Work.2" capsule continues Feng Chen Wang's sustainable strategy of recycling previous collections and materials into new designs using her distinctive deconstruction design method, after the label's inaugural "Re-Work" line displayed at London Fashion Week in 2020.
Re-Work.2 features a few pieces from the label's SS18 "MADE IN CHINA" and AW18 "THE WAY HOME" collections, which emphasize the value of community and coming together, especially in a world that is changing so quickly.
To make a "three in one" t-shirt, t-shirts from the AW21 collection that were hand brush painted in vegetable dye and then pressed were disassembled. A skirt suit is made from hooded sweaters that have been cut tall at the waist and sewed and draped together with shirting cloth.
