British lifestyle brand FatFace, has earned B Corp certification, advancing its 2025 sustainability ambitions and joining a select group of more than 1,000 UK companies who have earned this designation.
FatFace has received certification from B Lab, the non-profit organization that founded the B Corp movement. B Lab puts each business through a rigorous process to make sure it satisfies the requirements for certification in terms of accountability, transparency, and social and environmental performance.
Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers are the five main areas where businesses must demonstrate their worth.
A emphasis on sustainability is part of FatFace’s primary business strategy, which is based on the three pillars of product, planet, and community. It is because of the advancements made in each of these three areas of focus that FatFace was granted B Corp certification, the fruit of years of work to make sustainability the foundation of the company.
The clothing line has joined a group of approximately 6,200 companies that are B Corps globally, including Thrift+, Patagonia, Berghaus, TOMS, and Allbirds.
Innovative cooperation with important partners has been a feature of FatFace’s route to B Corp accreditation. The company’s 75-year collaboration with the National Forest, which celebrates its dedication to sustainability and its transition to carbon neutrality in the UK starting in 2021, is particularly noteworthy. Additionally, FatFace started a collaboration with Thrift+ last year to provide clients with a simple way to recycle old clothing and donate to a charity of their choice.
Nick Stevenson, Director of Trading and Sustainability at FatFace, said that being a B Corp is a celebration of everything they stand for, from their responsible sourcing practices, climate-conscious initiatives, and inspiring charity partnerships to the wonderful people who are driving change across their businesses and in their local communities.
Stevenson added that Our sustainability journey began over ten years ago, but fast forward to today – now an international multichannel business, they are more committed and ambitious than ever to discovering methods to lessen their impact on the environment and positively assist their employees and the communities in which they operate. Their sustainability journey started more than ten years ago. They have gained important insight from the B Corp accreditation process that will help them build their future environmental agenda.
Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, said that they are thrilled to welcome FatFace to the B Corp community. This is a movement of businesses that are dedicated to altering how business is conducted and think that business can actually be a force for good. They are confident that FatFace will be a terrific addition to the neighborhood and will keep the dialogue moving. Their dedication to conducting business differently will serve as an example to others and greatly aid in the dissemination of the idea that success in business can be redefined to include consideration for both the planet and its inhabitants as well as profit.
