Falke, a German-based textile and clothing company since opening a factory at Leskovac in the Balkan country in 2012 after investing 10 million euro in its construction having a combined production capacity of 15 million socks and stockings per year. According to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the company has invested 15.5 million euro ($18.3 million) in Serbia.
The Chamber of Commerce in a statement on Wednesday said that Falke plans to produce 14 million pairs of socks in 2017 and expects its factory in Leskovac, in southern Serbia, to reach its full annual capacity of 15 million pairs in 2018.
The managing director of Falke's Serbian unit, Tomas Kruger, after a meeting with the president of the chamber, Marko Cadez said that the development is going faster and faster. They have a very good investment environment and at this moment they employ 725 people and plan them to increase the number to 733.
