Garment worker rights organization Fair Wear has joined hands with the European Outdoor Group (EOG) to promote better working conditions and safeguard worker rights in the outdoor apparel industry.

As part of the collaboration, Fair Wear will provide EOG members access to its Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) Academy platform. This platform is designed to help organizations implement human rights due diligence practices across their operations.

Aligned with OECD standards, the HRDD Academy offers customized learning modules, tools, and guidance to improve human rights practices in the garment industry. It also prepares brands for compliance with upcoming regulations, such as the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), which was approved by the Council of the EU in May.

Victoria Lauer, HRDD Academy coordinator at Fair Wear, expressed optimism about the partnership, saying, “By partnering with EOG, we hope to significantly expand the reach of our HRDD Academy and its positive impact on working conditions in the outdoor industry.”

Over the next year, Fair Wear and EOG will collaborate through events and digital consultations to help outdoor apparel companies improve worker rights and working conditions. Katy Stevens, head of corporate social responsibility and sustainability at EOG, stated, “This partnership is a critical step forward for the outdoor industry in Europe. Our collaboration with Fair Wear ensures that worker rights remain central to our industry values while advancing responsible and sustainable supply chains.”
