Faherty, Alternew to enhance retail experience

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-02-04 17:38:26 – USA

Faherty Brand has announced a new collaboration with Alternew, a tech-enabled tailoring platform, to improve the shopping experience by offering convenient alteration services to customers. The pilot program was launched today and will run for three months at Faherty’s Madison Avenue store in New York City.

Alternew connects brands with local tailors to ensure that customers receive properly fitted clothing. According to Nancy Rhodes, CEO and co-founder of Alternew, the program will initially involve four tailors located near the Madison Avenue store, although the platform has over 150 tailors available.

While these tailors can handle various alterations, the trial phase will primarily encourage customers to get their items hemmed. The success of the initiative depends largely on store associates effectively introducing the service to shoppers.

“The sales associate will scan a barcode, collect the customer’s details, and match them with a nearby tailor suited for their needs,” Rhodes explained.

“We’ve been working closely with the staff, and they are excited about this new addition because it allows them to form a deeper connection with shoppers,” Rhodes said. She believes the program will be especially beneficial for associates assisting customers in dressing rooms.
