Eva Chen has joined forces with H&M to design stylish and environmentally friendly children’s clothing. The former magazine editor and current head of fashion partnerships at Instagram discussed the upcoming collection in an interview with WWD. The line, set to debut on September 7, will be available in select H&M stores and online.
Chen expressed her pride in the collection, highlighting its focus on creating clothes meant to be handed down from one child to another. With three kids of her own, Chen aimed to design pieces that are durable and timeless.
The collection is characterized by a joyful and gender-neutral approach, inspired by the way kids express themselves through clothing. Chen’s own daughter’s carefree style choices influenced this direction.
The color palette of the collection includes vibrant shades like jade and lavender, balanced by versatile washed denim. Chen referred to denim as a “true neutral,” suitable for mixing and matching.
The collaboration with H&M aligns with the company’s commitment to using 100 percent sustainably sourced materials by 2030. The children’s range features items crafted from recycled cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel Lyocell—a fabric derived from eucalyptus trees. H&M partnered with Slow Factory, a nonprofit organization focused on climate justice and human rights, to ensure the collection’s sustainability.
Chen emphasized the importance of making conscious decisions throughout the design process, creating a collection that brings joy to both children and parents while being mindful of its impact on the environment. The Eva Chen x H&M collection includes tops, bottoms, outerwear, and accessories, with prices ranging from $12.99 to $59.99.
