The Ermenegildo Zegna Group has announced plans to open a state-of-the-art facility for luxury footwear and leather goods production in Sala Baganza (Parma). Scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, the new facility aims to increase the Group's manufacturing capacity and emphasize Italian craftsmanship.

Gildo Zegna, Chairman and CEO of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group, expressed the significance of luxury footwear and leather goods in Italian manufacturing. He highlighted the facility's role beyond production, serving as a training ground for aspiring artisans to preserve the essence of Made in Italy. Parma's rich history of craftsmanship makes it the perfect location for this endeavor.

Approved by local authorities, the 12,500 square meter facility will occupy a 10-hectare plot in the northern Emilian Apennines, located just 10 km from downtown Parma. Designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, the architecture prioritizes environmental sustainability, integrating seamlessly with the natural surroundings. With an emphasis on longevity and resilience, the facility aims to create an "oasis" where manufacturing and nature coexist harmoniously, fostering ecosystem protection and development.

The Group is developing this advanced center to meet the rising demand for its brands, particularly focusing on men's footwear and leather goods, including the renowned ZEGNA's Triple StitchTM. Additionally, the facility will serve as a hub for research and development (R&D), enhancing the Group's customization offerings to meet evolving client preferences. With an anticipated completion date of December 2026, the facility is expected to employ over 300 people by 2027.
