Eri Silk, a renowned product from Assam, India, has achieved a significant milestone by receiving the esteemed Oeko-Tex certification, marking a transformative moment for the Indian textile industry. The certification is a major achievement for the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region’s (DoNER) North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC). Known as the world’s only vegan silk, Eri Silk’s production method is unique as it allows the silk moth to naturally emerge from its cocoon, preserving the integrity of the silk strands and aligning with global demand for eco-friendly fabrics.

Already a Geographical Indication (GI) product of Assam, Eri Silk’s authenticity and regional significance are further validated by this endorsement.
