Eileen Fisher has introduced a new line of clothing made from used garments that have been dyed with natural indigo by Botanical Colors. The collection features unique linen and cotton pieces hand-dyed with natural indigo at Botanical Colors' dye house in Seattle. These garments will develop a soft and distinctive look over time, reflecting the art of indigo hand-dyeing.
Included in the collection are linen button-down shirts, pants, skirts, tanks, organic cotton stretch jeans, cotton slub jackets, and twill pants, with prices ranging from $45 to $155. The pieces are currently available for purchase on Eileen Fisher's website.
Botanical Colors, founded by Kathy Hattori in 2010, specializes in natural dyes sourced from organic, GOTS certified, and food waste materials. The company offers dyeing services for both small and large volumes of garments, collaborating with brands to create custom dye effects and color recipes.
Eileen Fisher's Renew program, which encourages the exchange and resale of used garments, is behind the capsule collection. Through this program, customers can trade in their old Eileen Fisher items for Renew Rewards or mail them in. Garments in good condition are resold, while the rest are recycled or repurposed using the brand's felting technique.
