ECI Elastic launches 100% recycled Fancy yarn

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-03-20 16:55:57 – Taiwan

E.C.I. Elastic Co., Ltd., a global producer of elastic and non-elastic tapes, has introduced Fancy Yarn, a new textile material crafted entirely from recycled waste yarn. This innovative product reflects the company’s ongoing dedication to sustainability and efficient resource use within the textile industry.

Fancy Yarn is made through a unique method that blends two, three, or four different colored leftover yarns into a single thread. This technique transforms textile waste into a practical and visually appealing material, helping to reduce landfill waste and lessen the environmental footprint associated with traditional yarn manufacturing.

Paul Shen, Senior Manager at ECI Elastic, shared the company’s vision: “The launch of Fancy Yarn is a meaningful move toward a more circular textile industry. By turning discarded fibers into valuable materials, we’re offering sustainable options for designers and manufacturers who want to reduce waste without sacrificing quality or performance.”

In addition to this launch, ECI Elastic is committed to furthering sustainability in textile production by using recycled inputs and adopting environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. The company’s wider sustainability efforts include initiatives to cut carbon emissions and support circular economy practices, aiming to improve environmental responsibility throughout the textile supply chain.
