EarthProtex, a Vancouver-based producer of recycled polyester, has announced a strategic partnership with iTextiles to distribute its fiber to major manufacturers and brands in Pakistan. This partnership combines EarthProtex’s circular technology with iTextiles’ extensive distribution network in the region.
Tex2Tex, EarthProtex's textile-to-textile recycling technology, transforms single-use plastics like PET bottles into recycled polyester staple fiber and filament through a low-impact thermomechanical reactor process. The life cycle assessment of Tex2Tex shows it uses less energy and water and produces fewer carbon emissions compared to virgin polyester and recycled PET from bottles.
iTextiles is a multidisciplinary textile solutions company that manages entire value chains in performance textiles and is known for introducing innovative textile solutions. It also distributes Nature Coatings, Eastman Naia, and Smart Linen.
The partnership between EarthProtex and iTextiles will initially focus on circular knits, warp knits, denim, and socks. However, Tex2Tex is also suitable for home textiles, suiting, flannels, shirting, and other applications.
