Dimension-Polyant, the manufacturer of durable X-Pac waterproof laminates based in Kempen, Germany, has developed a cleenTEC seal to assist identify X-Pac textiles manufactured with recycled, bio-based, and/or sustainably sourced materials.

Furthermore, it ensures that the materials are produced using responsible manufacturing procedures at climate-neutral manufacturing facilities.

To offset the carbon footprint, the firm works with ClimatePartner to evaluate the entire environmental effect of each cleenTEC fabric and sponsors programs that invest in sustainable wind power developments or ocean plastic collecting.

Uwe Stein, Dimension-Polyant CEO, said that they wanted to design a logo that would help companies better recognize and understand their responsibly-sourced, carbon-neutral materials and that they go beyond being simply another recycled fabric provider.

The company's cleenTEC certified textiles include the popular VX21, which is now 100 percent carbon neutral, as well as the new RX and X11 fabrics, which will be shown at Techtextil in Frankfurt from June 21-24.

X-Pac RX is a line of mono-polymer textiles manufactured with a face fabric comprised of 100% post-consumer recycled polyester and X-PLY reinforcement. The recycled polyester fiber is created from discarded PET bottles, and the lighter-weight polyester film backing gives it a sleek, technological look.

Dimension-Polyant has just created X-Pac X11, which is manufactured with a 100 percent organic cotton duck face fabric, black recycled polyester X-PLY reinforcement, and glossy polyester film backing for a more natural appeal.

In addition, the company's toughest, most durable laminate, UVX40, is now constructed with bio-based Dyneema fibers, and all X-PLY fiber reinforcements are now created with post-consumer recycled polyester.

Stein added that many of their brand partners have expressed their gratitude for everything that goes into sustainably procuring their raw materials in order to lower their carbon footprint and take an industry leader in generating climate-neutral textiles. They are honored to have received ClimatePartner's 'cradle-to-customer plus end-of-life' certification for their cleenTEC seal textiles, which they think are the first and only climate-neutral laminates designed for packs.
