Denim maker Isko joins the Jeans Redesign Project

Sanko Holding’s Isko, a denim producer based in Gaziantep, Turkey, will participate in the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Jeans Redesign Project, which encourages the denim industry to change the way jeans are manufactured and move toward a circular economy for fashion.

ISKO has committed to using recycled material content manufactured from pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled materials in the future, meeting the guidelines for participation set out by The Jeans Redesign guidelines. Textile Exchange audit bodies will independently verify this production.

Isko’s R-Two technology, which is developed through a patented and exclusive yarn spinning method that preserves the distinctive qualities and advantages found in the company’s signature textiles, will be used to achieve this goal.

Ebru zküçük, Isko’s head of sustainability, said that they’re completely committed to assisting in the development of a sustainable future for the globe, and it is important for the industry to work together to effect good change. They’re constantly working to find new methods to make denim more circular, and their involvement in The Jeans Redesign takes them one step closer to achieving their goal of establishing a truly circular fashion industry.

The company recently inked a licensing deal with HKRITA for their award-winning, groundbreaking Green Machine — a one-of-a-kind technology that completely separates and recycles cotton and polyester blends at scale.

Isko will be able to enhance and commercialize recycling technology as a result of the deal, and will eventually be able to offer a 100% post-consumer recycling solution to all of its clients.
