DBS and RESET Carbon (RESET) have teamed up to speed up the use of eco-friendly and sustainable solutions in the apparel, footwear, and textile supply chain. They signed an agreement (MOU) during the ReThink HK Sustainable Business Conference & Expo.

DBS and RESET want to promote sustainability in the supply chain for clothing and textiles. They plan to work with both buyers and suppliers, including small and medium-sized businesses in Asia's manufacturing supply chain.

RESET will offer advisory services to AFT brands to help reduce carbon emissions in their supply chains, set carbon reduction goals, and improve their abilities in this area. DBS will provide financial solutions to suppliers, allowing them to invest in technologies that reduce factory emissions, water use, and waste.

Companies can also take part in the Carbon Leadership Program (CLP) developed by RESET and the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii). This program helps clothing brands and their suppliers set science-based carbon reduction targets. It uses benchmarking and assessments to create action plans, using standardized tools and collaborative processes.

Over 20 major apparel brands have already participated in the program, potentially avoiding up to three million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year if they fully implement the action plans.

Yulanda Chung, from DBS, explained that this partnership shows their commitment to making real changes in the apparel sector by offering financial solutions and advice on resource efficiency.
