CS Carolina, Inc. textile manufacturer plans to relocate and expand its manufacturing operations from Swepsonville to Burlington, North Carolina which involves an investment to tune of $7.3 million. This project will also create 22 new jobs over the next three years in Alamance County.
In Tae Joo, President of CS Carolina said that they are excited to help lead the way with investment in the latest technology and their new expansion will revival the textile industry in North Carolina.
The project was made possible in part by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund of up to $80,000. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance, through local governments, to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state.
Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds. These grants also require and are contingent upon local matches.
Other partners that helped with this project include: the N.C. Department of Commerce, N.C. Community Colleges, Alamance County Community College, Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce, Alamance County, the City of Burlington and N.C. Ports.
Governor Pat McCrory said that North Carolina’s manufacturing workforce help companies like CS Carolina grow. They welcome these new jobs to Alamance County and look forward to CS Carolina’s contribution to continuing state’s long history in textile manufacturing as it’s crucial to create an environment where the existing businesses can expand.
