CottonConnect and CEA to promote regenerative cotton farming in Egypt

CottonConnect and the Cotton Egypt Association (CEA) have officially announced a long-term partnership to raise awareness and expand the impact of regenerative cotton farming initiatives across Egypt.

Under the agreement, cotton farmers will receive the knowledge and tools needed to adopt regenerative agricultural practices, promoting more sustainable farming methods. The non-profit CEA aims to protect and enhance the value of the Egyptian Cotton™ brand.

With support from CEA, CottonConnect will be able to expand its existing REEL Cotton Program, which has already made a positive impact in Egypt by reducing water and chemical usage by 15–30 percent, increasing crop yield by 15 percent, and boosting profits for local farmers by around 30 percent.

Alison Ward, CEO of CottonConnect, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to work with the Cotton Egypt Association to promote eco-friendly cotton farming. Together, we can make a greater impact by helping Egyptian cotton farmers embrace regenerative methods that increase production while preserving vital natural resources.”

Khaled Schuman, CEO of the Cotton Egypt Association, commented, “Our partnership with CottonConnect is a significant step in the right direction. We’re eager to leverage our networks and shared expertise to support farmers, drive meaningful change, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the textile industry.”
