Cordura merges with Esmond to create technical textile innovation

Cordura, the nylon fabrics brand owned by synthetic textile fibre producer Invista partners with ESMOND a Parisian fashion school that offers topflight programs in design and business to cover the full range of the fashion industry’s demands,. The collaboration is set to develop ideas for more fashionable and consumable protective personal equipment (PPE).

The collaboration will also help raise awareness about technical textile innovations amongst young designers. Using a range of Cordura’s high-performance fabrics, Students from the ESMOND fashion collect are set to design garments which reportedly showcase a crossover between fashion, sport and work clothing.

ESMOND will be sampling Cordura’s high-visibility, abrasion resistant, denim and wool fabrics over the course of the project, with final designs having the opportunity to be displayed at the upcoming US OutDoor Retailer exhibition.

Cindy McNaull of Cordura said that innovation is an integral component of their brand ethos. This collaboration is an opportunity for the Cordura brand team to share its know-how of performance fabrics, and raise awareness about technical textiles among young designers.

Cordura wants to empower designers to create desirable and wearable solutions.
