CMAI launches sustainable supply chain directory

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-03-21 15:48:28 – India

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has introduced a new website and a sustainable supply chain directory to support responsible and eco-conscious sourcing within India’s fashion sector.

The SU.RE website has been developed to guide the Indian fashion industry in making environmentally friendly choices and moving towards sustainability. It will also act as a platform for sharing knowledge through news updates and real-life examples from the industry.

Along with the website, the SU.RE initiative has also introduced an open-source Sustainable Supply Chain Directory. This directory includes more than 600 verified suppliers from different areas such as fabric manufacturing, recycling, eco-friendly packaging, and certification services.

The directory was developed through a partnership between the Centre for Environment Education (CEE) and the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS). It provides a central space for idea-sharing, encouraging new developments, and making it easier for businesses to find sustainable sourcing solutions.

This supply chain directory helps brands connect with suppliers who focus on sustainable materials and services, including environmentally friendly fabrics, trims, production services, packaging, and recycling options.

It also aims to promote open communication and teamwork through sustainability-focused programmes and events, encouraging more responsible and transparent business practices.
