CM to lay foundation stone for Kakatiya textile park in Warangal

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will lay foundation stone for the Kakatiya Mega Textiles Park in Warangal on October 20 being set up at a cost of Rs11,000 crore in public private partnership, said Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari.

Kadiam said that the Chief Minister has announced funds for the project that will boost textile production in the State and give employment to about 1.13 lakh people. Those who migrated to other states will get back to the park to eke out their livelihood. The park will have ginning, spinning, weaving, processing and garmenting facilities.

The Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 699 crore for ORR in Warangal and Rs 78 crore for ROB and works will be started soon.

Some Tiruppur-based textile manufacturers have already committed to invest in the textile park.

On the same day, the chief minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Rs 669-crore Warangal outer ring road project, part of a string of infrastructure development projects in the district., according to media reports from the state.

Telangana produces about 60 lakh bales of cotton a year, most of which is sent to adjoining states due to shortage of processing units.
