Chinese firm invests in groundbreaking composite factory at Mongla EPZ

In a groundbreaking move, the Chinese company Yun Sheng BD Co Ltd. is all set to pioneer the establishment of a composite factory in the Mongla Export Processing Zone (Mongla EPZ). This facility will encompass textiles, garments, and accessories, making it the first of its kind in the region. With an unprecedented investment of US $89 million, Yun Sheng BD aims to manufacture a variety of products, representing the highest proposed investment by a single company in the history of agreements signed for factories in Mongla EPZ.

The formal agreement between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Yun Sheng BD Co Ltd. was recently signed at the BEPZA Complex in the capital city, Dhaka. The signing ceremony was witnessed by BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, NDC, PSC. Ali Reza Mazid, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Ji Lai Yang, Managing Director of Yun Sheng BD, represented their respective parties during the signing.

Yun Sheng BD’s production portfolio includes a diverse range of products such as woven/knitted fabrics, padding, quilting, printing fabrics, embroidered fabrics, coated fabrics, laminated fabrics, various types of tape, and knit & woven garment products. This ambitious venture is expected to create job opportunities for 5421 Bangladeshi nationals, contributing significantly to employment in the region. Key officials from BEPZA and Yun Sheng BD were present at the signing ceremony, emphasizing the importance of this collaboration for both parties.
