Carrefour Polska has extended its eco-friendly apparel line and created dedicated clothing showcase zones in its shops.
The retailer has built BIO zones in seven of Poland’s largest Carrefour hypermarkets to highlight the TEX brand’s clothing.
This is another step, according to the retailer, toward achieving its long-term goal of ensuring that all renewable raw materials used in the TEX clothing collection are manufactured in a safe and traceable manner by 2030.
Marek Lipka, commercial director and member of the management board of Carrefour Polska, said one of Carrefour Polska’s corporate activities is the provision of offering high-quality clothes. They’re confident that introducing designated eco-fashion zones at reasonable rates in their larger stores would allow their consumers to dress stylishly while also contributing to the sustainability of our planet’s resources.
The BIO TEX brand uses ecological cotton, emphasizes fair remuneration for farmers, encourages the use of recycled products and less water in processing, and supports responsible forest management.
The range includes clothing for women, men, girls, and babies along with bathrobes and towels. T-shirts, skirts, and panties are available for ladies, while everyday and formal clothes are available for men.
In Poland, Carrefour has also been involved in fostering a sustainable clothing and textiles policy.
Carrefour Polska entered a collaboration in June 2018 to translate the ‘OECD Due Diligence Guidelines for Responsible Supply Chains in the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Sector’ into Polish.
The document, which was delivered in Polish at the Ministry of Investment and Development, continues to assist Polish manufacturers in being part of a responsible supply chain, according to the retailer.
