Capri Holdings publishes its 2021 Corporate Social Responsibility report

US-based multinational fashion holding company, Capri Holdings Limited has released its corporate social responsibility report for 2021, which shows the fashion luxury group’s progress toward major CSR goals.

The report builds on the company’s global, group-wide sustainability strategy, which is divided into three areas: Our World, which focuses on environmental sustainability and climate change, Our Community, which focuses on human rights, diversity, and inclusion, and Our Philanthropy, which looks at giving back and driving positive change in communities, and Our Philanthropy, which looks at giving back and driving positive change in communities.

The signature of the Science-Based Targets Projects Business Ambition, in which the company pledges to work across its operations and supply chain with reduction criteria to keep global warming below 1.5°C, is one of the highlights of its Our World initiatives.

By 2025, Capri, which owns Michael Kors, Versace, and Jimmy Choo, will have sourced at least 95% of its leather from Leather Working Group Gold- or Silver-certified tanneries, or tanneries attaining comparable certification. Desserto, an advanced, cactus-based material that is a sustainable, low-impact solution for accessories and footwear, was also purchased by the company.

In Our Community, the company has committed $20 million to the Capri Holdings Foundation for the Advancement of Diversity in Fashion, in order to support the foundation’s aim of promoting diversity, inclusiveness, and equality in the fashion industry.

Pride@Capri, an employee resource organization centered on the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, was also formed as part of the company’s goal to increase the ratio of Black employees in senior and junior level roles.

The corporation received an 80 out of 100 scores in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index after its initial submission.

Capri Holdings gave $3 million to local and international organizations devoted to providing frontline and emergency help during the start of the Covid-19 outbreak as part of its Our Philanthropy programs.

Michael Kors items were donated to the non-profit Delivering Good for $35 million, and the Michael Kors Watch Hunger Stop campaign gave 24 million school meals.

Through Versace’s Pride 2021 programs, the firm continued to support Women for Women International through the Jimmy Choo Foundation, as well as the Born this Way Foundation.
