Canada Goose receives Responsible Down Certification (RDS)

Lifestyle brand, Canada Goose, has announced that it has achieved certification under the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) by embracing its sustainability and animal welfare stipulations.

The RDS is an international, voluntary program that ensures that down standards are followed throughout the supply chain and keeps track of certified items’ chain of custody. The RDS is dedicated to animal welfare and environmental sustainability, and Canada Goose has joined the ranks of other firms that have earned this status and share the RDS’ principles.

Through its purpose platform, Humanature, Canada Goose has been investing in its sustainability mission. Canada Goose can continue to participate in the RDS Global Working Group as a qualified RDS member to ensure that the RDS continues to evolve.

RDS establishes a standard set of expectations for consumers and the textile industry, and it matches Canada Goose’s focus on making best-in-class goods that epitomize sustainable innovation. Canada Goose will continue to actively participate in the RDS Global Working Group, which is regulated by the Textile Exchange, to ensure that the RDS continues to improve and represent industry best practices.

Dani Reiss, president and CEO of Canada Goose, said that their objective is to keep the earth cold and the people on it warm. They have hit another milestone in their mission to deliver on their objective, months ahead of schedule, with this announcement.

By 2025, the brand’s environmental goals call for it to be carbon-neutral and for 90% of its materials to have gained bluesign certification for ethical and sustainable fabrics.
