Caldera, a company under Dover Corporation, has announced the release of its latest raster image processor (RIP) software designed specifically for Direct-to-Film (DTF) and Direct-to-Garment (DTG) digital textile printing. This new solution brings a broader range of features for creators, printers, and producers in the printed apparel industry and is compatible with both Windows and MacOS systems.
The new RIP software is tailored for the entire garment decoration market, offering a simplified tool that enables users to provide complete customization for unique designs and small batch printing. With an easy-to-use interface and built-in self-training guides, the software allows users of all experience levels to independently develop and refine their DTF and DTG printing skills.
“Our goal was to create an intuitive platform with features that are most valuable for DTF and DTG users,” said Sebastien Hanssens, Vice President of Marketing & Operations at Caldera. “This product streamlines the process of creating accurate, on-brand designs, helping users save time and process more orders. Additionally, the built-in learning content helps newcomers improve their skills effectively.”
Key features of the software include precise White Management Tools for handling white ink, along with expert-built print presets that simplify Print Management. A design preview function allows users to identify and correct potential errors before printing, saving time and materials.
The RIP also offers comprehensive File Preparation tools, such as automatic image mirroring, and a wide array of Color Management options. It introduces initial support for spot color conversion and adjustment, a knockout tool, and the ability to manage up to 12 inks, including specialty inks like fluorescents, varnishes, glosses, and pre-treatments.
