The LYCRA Company has announced that its COOLMAX® EcoMade fiber, produced from 100% textile waste, is a key component in the Brazilian Volleyball team’s indoor and beach jerseys for the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. These uniforms were unveiled on June 27, Volleyball Day in Brazil, with a spectacular projection on the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.

COOLMAX® EcoMade fiber helps athletes stay cool and dry by transporting moisture away from the body to the fabric’s surface, where it evaporates. This fiber is made from pre-consumer textile waste scraps and offers performance comparable to virgin polyester, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact. The jerseys also incorporate 8% LYCRA® fiber, enhancing their fit and freedom of movement.
