Recently, Borealis announced the signing of an agreement to acquire 100% of Integra Plastics AD, an advanced mechanical recycling company based in Elin Pelin, Bulgaria, pending customary regulatory approvals. Now, the companies are pleased to announce the successful completion of the transaction.

Integra Plastics AD operates a modern advanced mechanical recycling plant established in 2019, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and an annual capacity exceeding 20,000 tons. The company specializes in transforming post-consumer waste into high-quality polyolefin recyclates suitable for various demanding applications.

This acquisition enhances Borealis' specialty and circular portfolio, enabling it to meet the increasing customer demand for sustainable solutions. By combining Integra Plastics' expertise and capacity in advanced mechanical recycling with Borealis' innovation leadership, the companies aim to significantly advance circularity in the plastics industry. This move also demonstrates Borealis' commitment to its EverMinds™ initiative, accelerating the transition to a truly circular economy.
