Bluesign is happy to announce that they are working with the fashion brand Madewell. Madewell is the first denim company in the US to be a Bluesign® System Partner. This partnership shows that Madewell wants to make their denim in a more environmentally friendly way.
Bluesign has a system that looks at everything in denim production to make it eco-friendly. They focus on using sustainable chemicals and methods to make things better for the environment and the people who work in the industry.
Bluesign works closely with brands, manufacturers, and chemical suppliers. They visit these companies to make sure they’re doing things in a good way. They also help find safer ways to use chemicals and make products that are better for people and the planet.
Starting in October 2022, Madewell began working together with Bluesign to make their denim in a more eco-friendly way. They launched their first denim style through this partnership. This denim style was made using ISKO fabrics that are approved by Bluesign. This means that they follow strict rules for keeping workers safe and protecting the environment. They also avoid using harmful chemicals right from the start of making the fabric.
The CEO of Bluesign, Daniel Rüfenacht, talked about the main ideas behind bluesign. He said that their “Bluesign® Denim” plan wants to change how denim is made. They want to use clean methods and chemistry in making denim. Madewell is the first US denim brand to join this plan. This is a big step towards changing how denim is made. They hope other brands will also start using this method.
At the same time, Madewell’s partnership with bluesign fits with their “Bluesign® DENIM” idea. This idea focuses on using clean ways to make denim that’s good for the planet and people. They want to work with partners to avoid harmful chemicals and make denim in a responsible way. This means the process of making the fabric and the clothes must meet strict rules set by Bluesign. This helps keep workers, the environment, and customers safe. When people choose “Bluesign® Denim,” they are making a sustainable and reliable fashion choice while enjoying the freedom of denim.
