India’s blended spun yarns export value was up 4.9 per cent YoY in February 2016 while volumes rose 9.7 per cent as compared to the same month last year.
6.4 million kg of PC yarns was exported from India during the month. Polyester cottons yarns were exported to 57 countries in February 2016, of which, Bangladesh and Egypt were the largest importers of PC yarn from India followed by Morocco.
Argentina, Pakistan, Indonesia and Poland were the fastest growing markets for PC yarns while Chile significantly reduced its import of PC yarns from India.
Dominican Republic and Ecuador were among the 13 countries that did not import any PC yarns from India during February. Honduras, Hong Kong and Jordan were the major destination among the 16 new markets found in February.
In February, PV yarns were exported to 37 countries from India with volumes at 4.7 million kgs. Turkey continued to be the largest importer of PV yarns from India with 67 per cent share of the total volume exported from India during the month.
Peru, Yemen, Bangladesh and Portugal were the fastest growing markets for PV yarns while Honduras and Dominican Republic were the new major markets in February.
Twelve countries did not import any PV yarn during the month, including the major ones like Brazil, Chile and Djibouti.
