A new version of conventional lyocell is ready to be brought in the market as a patented NULLARBOR fiber with the brooming partnership of India based Birla Cellulose and Australian based Nanollose Ltd.
The combination of Nanollose’s tree-free cellulose is aimed for an eco-friendly, sustainable tree-free lyocell that uses feedstock from industrial and agricultural organic waste to produce NULLARBOR lyocell. Birla and Nanollose are filing a joint patent for the same.
Aditya Birla Group and Birla Cellulose are taking this important step to make their fibers more sustainable and they are looking forward to meeting mass scalability in collaboration with Nanollose. According to Wayne Best, executive chairman of Nanollose, NULLARBORE has exceeded in terms of superiority over the conventional tree-based fibers and sustainability. They are eagerly waiting for the production and introducing fiber to the fashion industry. In early 2020! Grasim Industries Ltd., a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Group, signed a collaboration agreement with the Nanollose to explore and develop tree-free fibers, including NULLARBORE and NUDOLIUM. This agreement facilitates the company with additional intellectual characteristics.
