Jowat- hot meatless adhesive
Jowat has introduced the first certified bio-based reactive polyurethane hot meatless adhesive for textile lamination. This marks their latest addition to its Jowatherm-Reaktant® GROW product family.
The “GROW” product line from Jowat only includes high-performance bio-based adhesives that have been sustainably manufactured. The Jowatherm-Reaktant® GROW 631.20 is the first reactive PUR hot melt adhesive reliant on renewable raw materials available for laminating operations in the textile and automotive industry. The sustainable adhesive is labelled DIN geprüft biobasiert, which is a bio-based certification by the German Institute for Standardization, DIN and Green Leaf by Intertek.
The newly launched product boasts a certified renewable raw material content, which is over 20% and has been certified to be in par with the established conventional counterparts in the Jowat portfolio. The product is washing resistant, has a soft hand feel, it can be processed at temperatures between 110 and 140 °C and meets all the criteria of ECO PASSPORT by OEKO- TEX®. The company meets all the standards for the manufacture of products certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX. The company also sees a way to integrate all its existing processes.
The application of the products is endless. It is utilised for the manufacturing of mattresses and upholstery covers, medical textiles, protective clothing, building textiles, abrasive materials, cleaning textiles and it is also applied to textile laminating applications in the automotive industry. The company is targeting companies interested in reducing their reliance on fossil fuels for their raw materials in their manufacturing processes step by step.
