Danish fashion house, Bestseller has revealed the results of its first collaborative product development with Spinnova, a supplier of sustainable materials.
The product is a pair of men's trousers for Bestseller's Jack & Jones brand that is constructed of 60% organic cotton, 20% cotton from the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), and 20% Spinnova fiber. The trousers are available through the brand’s international online stores.
The collaboration between Spinnova and Bestseller, which was formed in 2020 following an introduction via the Fashion for Good initiative.
By delivering new branded and certified fibers to the market by 2025, the business has set out in its ongoing sustainability strategy, ‘Fashion FWD’.
Elena Osenbrüg, Jack & Jones’ sustainability responsible, said that in Spinnova they found a strong partner to step up. She is thrilled to see the first Jack & Jones product created with Spinnove fiber on the market after visiting Spinnova's mill in Finland, observing how flawless the fiber production is, and working closely with their buying team to develop a statement piece.
Following the reveal of its first scale factory, which is anticipated to be finished in Finland at the end of the year, Spinnova is also presently starting a commercialization journey.
Within the next 10 to 12 years, the company said it plans to increase its global output of sustainable fiber to one million tonnes yearly.
