Autoneum is expanding its range of eco-friendly products for commercial vehicles with the launch of new polyester-based side and rear wall panels. These panels are made from Propylat PET, a fully recyclable and environmentally friendly material developed with the company’s Pure technology.

Composed entirely of polyester, this material offers a more sustainable alternative to traditional composite or thermoset resin panels used in trucks, which are often difficult to recycle. The unique properties of Propylat PET also enhance acoustic and thermal performance. Additionally, components can be welded directly onto the material without requiring adhesives or chemicals, further reducing environmental impact.

To support its growing focus on the commercial vehicle market, Autoneum will establish a dedicated Commercial Vehicles business unit in early 2024. This initiative aims to strengthen the company’s global presence and leverage its expertise in developing sustainable monomaterials for medium and heavy trucks as well as agricultural vehicles.

Major European truck manufacturers have already selected the Propylat PET panels for mass production. These innovative panels are currently available in Europe and North America, marking a significant step toward sustainable solutions in the automotive industry.
