Asahi Kasei and Lenzing team up for sustainable textile innovation

Asahi Kasei, a leading stretch yarn manufacturer, and Lenzing, a specialist in cellulosic fibers, have announced a collaborative effort to develop a range of sustainable textiles driven by circular principles. This partnership aims to combine Asahi’s Roica fiber with Lenzing’s Tencel and Modal fibers to create innovative fabric blends.

The fabrics in development will leverage the unique properties of Roica, known for its stretch capabilities, alongside the sustainable characteristics of Tencel and Modal fibers produced by Lenzing. By blending these materials, the companies seek to produce textiles that meet high-performance standards while promoting sustainability throughout the supply chain.

Through this partnership, Asahi Kasei and Lenzing aim to contribute to a more sustainable and circular fashion industry. By harnessing the strengths of their respective fibers, they aim to offer eco-friendly alternatives that address the growing demand for sustainable textiles in the market.
