Archroma unveils sustainable and innovative dye

Archroma, a leader in specialty chemicals focused on eco-friendly solutions, has introduced AVITERA RASPBERRY SE, a new advancement in sustainable and affordable dyeing of cellulosic fabrics. This trichromatic red dye helps mills produce rich, dark, and very dark colors while meeting the strict quality and eco-friendly standards. It also helps reduce overall production costs by cutting down on dye usage and ensuring accurate results from the start.

“When AVITERA SE was launched 15 years ago, it transformed the way cellulosic fabrics and blends were dyed, setting a high standard in both performance and sustainability,” said Dhirendra Gautam, Vice President of Marketing at Archroma.

These dyes use a quick, low-temperature wash-off process, offer dependable results, and maintain consistency in dark shades. They help mills cut water and energy use by up to 50% compared to current best methods, while also reducing CO2 emissions and waste water by half. Additionally, mills can boost their production by 25% or more.

These dyes have strong color-holding ability, staying bright even after many washes, and can withstand chlorine and bleach. They are also resistant to fading from light and sweat. This high performance meets strict industry standards and makes them ideal for the High IQ Lasting Color and High IQ Lasting Color Eco programs focused on long-lasting color.

With AVITERA SE RASPBERRY SE as our new red dye, we now allow fashion and textile makers to create unique, durable dark and very dark shades at the same cost efficiency as lighter colors. This is another key move in our PLANET CONSCIOUS+ mission to support both economic and environmental sustainability in the textile industry,” Gautam added.
