Global leader in sustainable specialty chemicals Archroma and a manufacturer and supplier of precision spray systems, Baldwin have developed a new partnership to improve finishing performance and save resources.

The goal is to support textile manufacturers with their development initiatives, with the goal of improving product safety, performance, and functionality while also increasing the efficiency and resource utilization of the finishing application process.

Baldwin's TexCoat G4, a non-contact spray technique for textile finishing and remoistening, is designed to provide precise coverage of the exact quantity of finish chemicals required to achieve certain fabric qualities. Compared to traditional padding application processes, this system can be used to reduce water consumption by as much as 50%.

It is currently testing finishing products and systems with Archroma, including the soon-to-be-launched PFC-free Smartrepel Hydro SR for water-based soil repellence, as well as metal and inorganic particle-free antimicrobial technologies like Sanitized T 20-19 and TH 15-14, which will be unveiled at Techtextil 2022 in Frankfurt from June 21-24. The preliminary test results will be available for review by both partners.
