Archroma, a global leader in color and specialty chemicals has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Textile Institute of Pakistan (TIP). The MoU was officially signed at a ceremony held in Karachi on May 9, 2016 in the presence of Thomas Winkler, President Textile Specialties & Innovation, Archroma, and Humayun Zafar, President, Textile Institute of Pakistan, along with other faculty members.
The partnership will benefit students of TIP who will gain access to Archroma’s Center of Excellence in Karachi through periodic training programs. The technical team of Archroma will also share the latest research knowledge with TIP students in a lecture series.
Speaking at the occasion, Mujtaba Rahim, CEO, Archroma Pakistan Limited, said that they at Archroma, believe in continuous improvement and through this initiative they will impart latest knowledge and technical developments to the students who have chosen to make career in textiles.
The students will benefit from the wide exposure in Archroma labs as well as highly specialized latest equipment used in textiles chemicals testing. They will also be able to get management training widely used in the corporate sector.
The experience gained through hands-on training programs, textile product knowledge and operating systems at Center of Excellence in Karachi will go a long way in enhancing academic expertise of the students. Also the collaboration with Archroma willl pave way for formal cooperation and will be of mutual benefit for the two institutions initially for a three-year period.
