Archroma, a global leader in specialty chemicals, has implemented a cutting-edge Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system at its Mahachai plant in Thailand, aimed at significantly improving water reuse and resource efficiency. Designed and built by Gradiant, a specialist in water and wastewater treatment, this system enables the plant to recover 90 to 95 percent of wastewater for reuse and extract valuable minerals for industrial use.
Archroma’s vice president of Global Marketing and Strategy, Dhirendra Gautam, emphasized the importance of water conservation: “We aim to reduce water use in both production and consumer use. We focus on removing harmful substances from our products to make wastewater treatment easier for both our plants and our customers. Our facilities, especially in water-stressed regions, are required to have strong water-saving capabilities to help tackle global water scarcity.”
