To support the three large textile factories rehabilitated by the Government in Kwanza Norte, Luanda and Benguela provinces, the Angolan minister of Industry, Bernarda Martins, called for investment in cotton production in Malanje.
Bernarda Martins speaking at the International Conference on Investment Promotion for the province which ended on Thursday urged domestic and foreign investors to invest in cotton production in Malanje,
Under the rehabilitation, expansion and modernization of the textile industries, the country currently imports cotton for the factories "Africa Textile" (Benguela)," Textang 2 "(Luanda) and" Satec "in Dondo (Kwanza Norte).
During the Portuguese colonial administration, the province of Malanje was one of the largest cotton producers, so that investors should think along these lines, aiming to end imports of this product.
Minister Bernarda Martins said the government was working to create land for the industry with the necessary infrastructure, including water, energy, roads and access, in order to support entrepreneurs who wish to invest.
