Global technology leader ANDRITZ has launched a new technical center in Montbonnot, France, focused on advancing dry molded fiber (DMF) production solutions for sustainable packaging. In collaboration with PulPac, a Swedish pioneer in DMF technology, ANDRITZ now offers comprehensive dry molded fiber lines for industrial applications.
The DMF production process utilizes a near-waterless method to transform cellulose fibers into three-dimensional packaging products, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional methods. The new center, equipped with a pilot production line, aims to facilitate the development of high-speed, turnkey DMF production plants for the packaging sector. It also provides a platform for customers to conduct trials, engage in R&D projects, and design innovative products with custom shapes and barrier properties.
Andreas Lukas, Senior Vice President of ANDRITZ Nonwoven & Textile, emphasized the company’s expertise in wood pulp processing and its commitment to environmentally responsible packaging. “Our new pilot line marks a significant milestone in delivering high-capacity, high-quality solutions for sustainable packaging. By combining ANDRITZ Dan-Web’s airlaid forming expertise with PulPac’s advanced molding technology, we are pushing the boundaries of efficiency and flexibility,” Lukas stated.
