Alsico Group, a global leader in high-performance protective workwear, has announced a strategic partnership with Sixone, marking a major step toward sustainability and innovation. As the first large-scale European manufacturer to collaborate with Sixone, Alsico is set to transform circularity in the workwear industry.
This initiative falls under the Alsico Academy’s ARX Initiative, a key part of the company’s global recycling and garment lifespan extension program. Through this collaboration, end-of-use Alsico workwear will be recycled into high-quality circular polyester chips. By collecting and processing performance fabrics at its own ARX garment collection facility, Alsico is closing the loop on textile waste and setting new environmental standards for the industry.
“Our partnership with Sixone reflects our deep commitment to innovation and sustainability,” said Vincent Siau, Managing Director at Alsico Group. “Together, we are creating a fully circular solution that extends the lifecycle of our high-performance fabrics, reduces dependency on virgin fossil-based materials, and supports a more sustainable future for the workwear industry.”
Sixone specializes in addressing the data challenges associated with textile recycling. Led by material science experts, the company analyzes the molecular composition of textiles to determine optimal recycling conditions, efficiently extracting pure polyester from chemically complex blends. This process goes beyond fiber and color, making it possible to recycle post-consumer garments with precision.
