Alchemie
Alchemie, a clean technology company based in Cambridge, UK, has unveiled its pioneering production and demonstration hub for digital textile dyeing in Nantou, Central Taiwan, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s mission to revolutionize the textile industry’s environmental impact.
At the new facility, Alchemie showcases its flagship Endeavour digital dyeing technology, a groundbreaking solution designed to significantly reduce the carbon footprint and waste associated with traditional dyeing processes, with a focus on woven polyester materials.
Alan Hudd, Founder and CEO of Alchemie Technology, highlights the growing global demand for low carbon dyeing technology amid increasing emphasis on environmental conservation, energy efficiency, and carbon reduction.
The transition from energy-intensive wet dyeing methods to a dry, digitally controlled process is facilitated by Alchemie’s Endeavour technology. This innovation addresses the textile industry’s notorious reputation as the second-largest contributor to industrial global wastewater pollution, resulting in an impressive 85% reduction in carbon emissions and up to a 95% decrease in wastewater.
Alchemie’s ambitious 2024 vision, which aims to develop in-market production solutions for cotton weaves, cotton knits, and polyester-elastane textiles, achieves a significant milestone with the launch of the Taiwan facility. The overarching goal of this comprehensive strategy is to provide sustainable digital dyeing alternatives across various textile applications.
