Advanced Clothing Solutions (ACS) has become the UK’s largest circular and sustainable fashion fulfillment hub to secure B Corp Certification with a score of 150.9.
Through renewal, rental, and resale, ACS is reimagining the future of fashion by addressing the sustainability crisis facing the sector. Environmental concerns are central to ACS, and the company’s creative strategy for creating a circular fashion model has contributed to its achievement of the coveted B Corp accreditation.
The rigorous and fact-based B Corp certification process is regarded as the gold standard of environmental and social performance. There are nearly 200 questions in the evaluation that applicants must finish in order to get a score. Only companies with a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or higher are allowed to move forward. This rating is comprised of points assigned to the Governance, Workers, Community, Customers, and Environment categories, among others.
ACS is pleased to inform that the company received an astoundingly high score of 150.9 points as a result of this thorough evaluation process. This score is a direct result of ACS’s commitment to changing the fashion industry from the conventional take-make-dispose model to one that increases textile longevity and prevents apparel from ending up in landfills. The company is dedicated to creating ecologically friendly production methods and uses microplastic filters and sustainable cleaning techniques to reduce water pollution. Within its main campus, ACS is also developing a biodiversity area with beehives, wildflowers, and a wormery.
In addition to lessening the environmental impact of the garment industry, ACS promotes social innovation by providing extremely satisfying work possibilities. There are also supported work possibilities for refugees and asylum seekers, placements with the Scottish Prison Service, and an online academy that hires modern apprentices.
ACS CEO, Andrew Rough, said that achieving B Corp status has been a crucial objective for Advanced Clothing Solutions, and they are really happy to have obtained this renowned designation. Only 6,106 businesses globally have earned B Corp certification as of this writing. Being listed among these progressive companies is a fantastic validation of their work. It has taken a lot of work to reach this amazing milestone, and they’ll keep enhancing and improving their procedures to make sure they maintain their high B Impact Assessment score.
Rough added that their concept would allow brands and retailers to offer a scalable rental or resale model that is healthy for both people and the environment. They truly think that circular fashion is the industry’s future.
