Adidas launches new ‘no dye’ golf shoes that save water

Sportswear giant Adidas is launching sustainable versions of two of its most popular golf shoes ‘No-Dye Collection’, as part of its waste-reduction effort.

The new No-Dye Collection of golf shoes features uppers made entirely in their natural color and are made with 60% less water and energy than their colored counterparts, making them more environmentally friendly.

The ZG21 Motion and adicross ZX Primeblue golf shoes will be available in a “No-Dye” edition on August 20, which leverages the material’s inherent color to reduce the amount of water and energy used to dye products new colors.

Masun Denison, global director of footwear, Adidas Golf, said that they’re always analyzing methods to decrease their environmental effect when it comes to their goods. With this line, they’re offering golfers a reason to feel good about their shoes that goes beyond appearance and performance.

The Adidas ZG21, which debuted in January as part of the No-Dye Collection, is the brand’s newest shoe style. The textile is created with 50% recycled material, much like the original ZG21, and by skipping the dyeing process, this version of the shoe is even more eco-friendly.

For males, a BOA and laced option will be available, whereas the women’s shoe will only be available with a BOA closing. The prices range from $180 to $230.
