Acteev®, a well-known textile technology, is broadening its horizons beyond just tackling odour issues, as announced by its parent company, Ascend Performance Materials.
Acteev has expanded its offerings to include a variety of lasting textile solutions and soft goods applications. This expansion encompasses a new strong nylon, an anti-static fibre, and a certified bio-based nylon, enhancing its successful odour-fighting abilities.
Acteev TOUGH is a durable nylon 6,6 staple fibre designed for tough uses like workwear, footwear, backpacks, straps, and climbing ropes. On the other hand, Acteev CLEAN, an anti-static fibre, repels hair, dust, and lint on fabrics, making it ideal for clothing and household items like upholstery.
Acteev BIOSERVE is an eco-friendly nylon sourced from plants, helping brands achieve sustainability goals without compromising on performance. Additionally, Acteev MED offers various forms for applications ranging from compression garments to wound care, and there's a low-carbon option for each Acteev solution.
The Acteev team will present these new developments at upcoming trade shows in Munich, Shanghai, Taipei, and Portland.
Nikki Huffman, global business development director for Acteev, stated, "Our textile scientists can collaborate directly with brands to create a material that solves their customers’ biggest challenges. For example, a maker of athleisure might want a garment that stays odour-free and can transition from the gym to the street while also repelling pet hair at home. We can combine our technologies to deliver that, and even make it plant-based and low-carbon."
