Viscose yarn prices steady in Asia

In China, offers for ring?spun 30s weaving yarn in Xiaoshan rose were steady in the third week of January, while compact siro?spun 40s yarn in Jiangsu was offered stable on the week.

In China, spun viscose yarn makers generally stopped production to take holidays, leading to thin transactions in the market. A few large mills were likely to suspend business from early next week. However, prices may bounce north after the Spring Festival.

In Pakistan, VSF prices stopped rising while yarn prices moved stably that week. It is anticipated that demand for yarn may rebound stimulated by the new export incentives.

In India, viscose yarn prices remained unchanged, in line with steady VSF trend while trading remained disrupted by the demonetization policy leaving the markets cash crunched.
