Viscose yarn prices on uptrend in Asia

In China, offers for ring?spun 30s weaving yarn in Xiaoshan were up US cents 5 a kg in the last week of June while compact siro?spun 40s yarns in Jiangsu rose US cents 5 a kg on the week.

Viscose spun yarn prices were continued to sustain the upward march on support of rising VSF cost which is expected to last into July. Downstream buying interest was modest while latest export data for May show a rebound in shipment, partly due to a jump of export to Turkey, up 7% in volume terms. Exports to Indonesia also rebounded, but still 37% below last year. However, price realization rose 11% from last year.

In India, viscose yarn prices rolled over after inching up last week on support of firmer VSF cost.

In Pakistan, viscose spun yarn prices remained almost flat in the holiday week and in line with the stability in VSF prices.
